Dr. Jesse Bridgers
Medical Director/Doctor
Dr. Jesse (Jay) M. Bridgers is a 1993 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced in the Southeastern part of Georgia for the past thirty years. With the help of his wife Sheryl, Dr. Bridgers ran the Metter Veterinary Clinic in Metter, Georgia, from 1996 until 2021, serving the community as a mixed animal practice early on and then focusing on small animal services after 2016. Dr. Bridgers began practicing in the Savannah area at Animal Care Savannah on Whitemarsh island and is now excited to join the team at Island Veterinary Clinic.
Growing up in the low country of South Carolina, Dr. Bridgers enjoys all manner of coastal outdoor activities, history, and is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He currently lives in Savannah with his wife, Sheryl, and their dog Mando and cat Tux.
Dr. Priya Subbarayan
Doctor
Dr. Subbarayan grew up outside of Atlanta in Roswell, Georgia. During undergrad Dr.
Subbarayan assisted in a research study observing sea otters off the coast of Alaska and
has wanted to work with animals ever since. Dr. Subbarayan graduated from Virginia Tech
with a BS in Animal and Poultry Sciences in 2010 and went on to work with sea turtles,
raptors, bears, and marine mammals prior to starting veterinary school in 2014. Dr.
Subbarayan graduated from the University of Georgia with her DVM in 2018 and has been
with Island Veterinary Clinic since.
Dr. Subbarayan enjoys spending time exploring Savannah, reading, and walking her dog,
Raleigh.
